Our brands and formats

Four SKUs in two sizes. The 10 kg bag has a die-cut handle: it is carried in one hand, fits in the trolley and is handled unaided from shelf to stove. Ease of use is its main advantage; the 15 kg bag optimises price per kilo and handling per tonne.

Why choose Serranova

Every detail counts. From where the wood comes from to the warmth in your home.

Heat, sooner

The pellet lights faster and burns steadily. You feel the heat from the first minute.

Performance and savings

Maritime pine with low, stable moisture: fewer kilos for the same heat, and less to pay at the end of the month.

A cleaner stove

A consistent product, with little dust and few fines. Less ash to clear out and fewer breakdowns to fix.

We look after your surroundings

Every bag comes out of the woodlands of Sierra de Gata. Buying it keeps that woodland clear, helps prevent fires and sustains jobs locally.

From woodland to your home

Full traceability in five steps. Every pellet has a history.

The first plant in Spain

Latest-generation technology

Serranova is the first plant in Spain built on PelletsCUBE, Knoblinger’s system, which brings the whole line —milling, conditioning, press, cooling, screening and discharge— into a closed circuit controlled end to end. A process like that delivers the same pellet on the first day of the season and on the last.

  • 5 t/h · 40,000 tonnes a year. The CUBE XL model has the capacity to keep supply going at the height of the season, when pellet is scarce.
  • Uniform length A built-in sizer evens out the pellet before it leaves: it feeds better in stoves and boilers, and jams less.
  • Less dust in the bag Straight out of the press the pellet is hot and soft, so a conveyor carries it to the cooler instead of dropping it, and it does not break on the way.
  • In-line screening and cleaning It is screened before discharge, and foreign material is separated out inside the circuit itself.

What it leaves in the local area

Serranova does more than produce renewable energy. Every tonne moves woodland, jobs and activity in Sierra de Gata.

Woodland management

Our suppliers keep the woodland clear and healthy. Managed woodland is woodland that survives.

Fire prevention

Taking biomass out of the woodland reduces the fuel load. Less material built up means fewer fires, and less fierce ones.

Jobs

Stable jobs in an area that needs them, at the plant and right along the supply chain.

Local development

Industry in a rural area: local suppliers, local transport and activity that stays in the region.

Every metric is auditable

The UN’s Sustainable Development Goals are the framework major retail and impact funds now use to rate their suppliers. These are the five the plant touches.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about Serranova wood pellets.

Pellets are small cylinders of compressed wood, around 6 mm in diameter, made with no chemical additives. They are used as a clean fuel in stoves and boilers, and give better energy performance than traditional logs with minimal emissions.
ENplus A1 is the benchmark certification for wood pellets in Europe: it sets strict limits on ash, moisture and calorific value. Serranova controls those same parameters on every batch —≈ 6 mm diameter, ≤0.70% ash, ≥4.6 kWh/kg and under 10% moisture— and its certification is going through validation.
Our raw material has two sources: local sawmills, and biomass from the woodlands of Sierra de Gata and Las Hurdes. It is all locally sourced maritime pine. Taking that biomass out of the woodland helps keep it clear and healthy, and reduces the risk of fire.
It depends on how much your stove or boiler burns. In a standard domestic stove (8-10 kW), a 15 kg bag can last between one and three days of moderate use.
